Race Weekend Details
Our flagship event at the base of Mt. Adams offers four race distances across a weekend of community and camping.

The Wild Woman Trail 50k, Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Relay all run on the same course: a Pacific Northwest forest paradise at the base of Mt. Adams. Gentle rolling hills, lush landscapes strewn with wildflowers, and the kind of singletrack that makes you forget you're working hard.
You pick how far you want to go. We'll make sure you get there.
Whether you're running 4.6 miles or 31 miles, you'll get:
Aid stations every 4-8 miles, stocked and staffed by people who want to see you succeed
2 nights of private camping at our sprawling, scenic basecamp
Pre-race community potluck (bring a dish to share!)
Post-race all-you-can-eat pizza, recovery station, and cold soak tubs that make every mile worth it
Speaker panels and workshops on nutrition, mindset, and more

Registration closes Thurs. June 18, 2026 at 5pm. There are no additional team registrations after this day. If space allows, individuals (not teams) may register in-person (cash or Venmo only) on Fri, June 19 until 6pm. There is no day-of-race registration.
Note: In 2026, the half marathon will be on Sunday, June 21. The 50k, Marathon, and Relay will remain on Saturday, June 20.
Course Descriptions
Our trails are located at the base of 12,276-foot Mt. Adams just north of Trout Lake, Washington. But don’t let that elevation fool you. These trails meander through gentle forests paths with no massive climbs. Trout Lake is an organic valley with herb farms, three dairy farms, and the best spring water ever (cold enough for soaking)!
You'll be running on trails through the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and surrounding timber lands. The course is essentially one big loop with aid stations every 4-7 miles providing water, electrolyte drinks, and snacks.
Distance notes:
50k: This is the ideal first 50k! The terrain is forgiving and the community is entirely good vibes. Many women run their first ultra with us. There is no cut-off!
Marathon: Our trail marathon is a great way to get into distance trail running without committing to an ultra… Though we believe that if you can run 26.2, you can run 31.1!
Half Marathon: This route is an incredible first trail race for newer runners or those returning after a break. You’ll run a similar course as the marathon, but shortcutting off most of legs 1 and 3.
Marathon relayers may have teams of two to four people to cover the entire 26.2 miles. (If you want to run the entire marathon and still be part of a team, you must run the first leg of the relay for your team.)
Routes are subject to change due to fire damage, conditions, etc.
In an effort to reduce paper waste, we are not providing cups. There will be plenty of water on course; however, you'll need to bring your own water bottle to refill at the aid stations.
Marathon Relay Leg Distances
Leg 1: 7 miles (moderate) - roughly 4 mi uphill, 3 mi downhill
Leg 2: 4.6 miles (moderate) - roughly uphill
Leg 3: 8 miles (moderate to hard) - roughly 4 mi uphill, 4 mi downhill
Leg 4: 6.6 miles (easy to moderate) - roughly downhill
Exchange point 1 is within walking distance from the start line. Exchange points 2 and 3 are an easy 4-mile drive north of the start with plenty of space to park and picnic.

This race is designed and intended for female or those who identify as female runners. That said, the Wild Woman does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities. We welcome men (friends, fathers, brothers, sons) to volunteer and support.

No, there is no day-of-race registration, but if there is space individual runners register on site the night before (Friday) between 3pm-7pm. All relay teams must be pre-registered.

No refunds, sorry. However, if you're on a team, and you find a replacement, we can provide her with a complimentary entry (and she can repay you). Contact the race director with name and email of your replacement runner.

There will be water and energy drink at all aid stations and limited energy food (about every 5-7 miles).

You will need to bring your water bottle, hydration pack, or portable cup. Plenty of drinking water available.

Exchange point #1 is walking distance (about 1000 feet east of race headquarters).
Exchange #2 and #3 are located approximately 4 miles north from race headquarters. Parking will be in the same location for both of the exchanges; however, the exchanges are in two different spots about 1/10th of a mile from the parking area, in opposite directions. (We will provide directions for anyone heading up to those exchange points.) Plenty of parking is available at this exchange area.

Although there will not be a regular shuttle, there will be plenty of runners, crew, and volunteers heading up and down from there often. We will encourage everyone to share space in their vehicles. Or if you need a ride, don't be shy, just ask. You will not get stranded. Promise.

For simplicity's sake, the 50K distance is only open to individuals. The marathon distance is the only distance set up for relay teams. You may have relay teams of 2, 3, or 4.

Lunch will be served to each racer. Post race snacks will also be available.

There are showers available 1 mile south of camp at the Guler County Park. It is $2 for 5 minutes. Or, for the true wild woman we will have cold water horse troughs for a refreshing post-race plunge! Of course, there's always Trout Creek too. Just ask the race directors how to get there.

Yes, there will be porta-potties at the start and finish.

Typically it will be hot in the day (70s) and cold (40’s) in the evening and early morning. The majority of the race course is shaded by conifer trees.

There is an ATM in Trout Lake inside the gas station. You may want to bring some cash, for incidentals like a t-shirt, extra lunches, or a huckleberry smoothie in town.

Yes, believe it or not there is Wi-Fi. But we don’t know how many people our internet system can handle so it may be intermittent. You can ask for the password at registration.

We supply a variety of tampons and pads at every aid station along the course and at porta potties. Menstrual supplies will be located on top of aid station tables. Contact a race volunteer for help locating supplies.

For any runner who's experiencing pregnancy, postpartum, or fertility treatments/IVF, we offer a 3 year window for deferral for any race distance. Runners signed up for the relay can transfer their registration to an alternate runner at no additional cost.
